FateLens ("we", "our", "us") operates fatelens.app. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.
1. Information We Collect
Birth data — birth year, month, day, and hour entered when generating a chart. This data is stored in our database associated with a random chart ID.
Blood type — optionally provided, stored with chart data.
Email address — optionally collected when you request to be notified about new features or save your results. Stored in our waitlist / email table.
Usage data — page views, button clicks, and feature interactions collected via PostHog analytics. IP addresses are used transiently for rate limiting and are not persisted.
Share links — when you generate a shareable link, a hashed (SHA-256) version of any name parameter is stored. Plain-text names are not persisted to our database.
2. How We Use Your Information
To generate and display your astrological chart and readings.
To send you product updates if you have opted in by providing your email.
To improve the service through aggregated, anonymized analytics.
To detect and prevent abuse via rate limiting.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data.
We use the following third-party processors: Supabase (database, EU region), Vercel (hosting, global edge), PostHog (analytics, EU cloud), Lemon Squeezy (payment processing).
Each processor is bound by a data processing agreement and is prohibited from using your data for their own purposes.
4. Data Retention
Chart data is retained indefinitely to allow you to share or revisit your chart via its unique URL.
Email addresses are retained until you request deletion.
You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing support@fatelens.app.
5. Cookies & Local Storage
We use browser sessionStorage to cache your most recently generated chart, avoiding redundant network requests. This data is cleared when you close the browser tab.
PostHog sets a first-party analytics cookie to measure unique visitors. You can opt out via your browser's cookie settings.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict processing.

If you are located in the EU/EEA, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
7. Children
FateLens is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced via in-app notification. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
